I got my "free" web hosting a few years back from this trial offer through 1&1 Hosting. For paying nothing, I got what I paid for which was fine. But this was back when they were pretty good. Now, the servers crash, load time is super slow, their customer service sucks. I eventually upgraded and still pay very little, just $10 a month, but 1&1 is retarded. I tried to cancel a domain that I didn't need anymore and they just randomly decided to ignore my request and renewed it anyway. Since renewing the domain was only $6, I didn't complain that much (they ignore emails anyway, so it wouldn't do much good).

This morning, from about 8am until now, all of my web sites had German language 400 error pages.

So now I'm looking for a new host. If anyone has recommendations, let me know. Also, if anyone has tips on how to migrate a MT platform over to a new host, share that too (please).

To my email requesting a service credit, their reply was:
"As of now, you're site is up and running. Please check again."

Uh, "now" it's working, yeah. But what about the 6 hours two days ago when I emailed you? When you update your 800 number message to say you're aware of a problem, that it should be back up in 15 minutes, but then 4 hours later, it's still down, I'm not sure how their reps can say there's no problem. Idiots.
