Blind Dates

Blind dates are always kind of strange. There is the odd feeling of knowing whatever you say or do will get back to the third party trying to set you up.

So she asks me how I feel about being set up on a blind date. It always makes me a little nervous when they say "you're personality and her personality - it'd be perfect." Then followed by, "hey, you're lucky you made the cut. I rarely offer to set up friends." Uh, thanks? I guess.

You know, I declined being set up with this guy my friend knew, on the grounds that I didn't want to have some loser foisted off on me, and it ending up being awkward. Funny thing is, when I actually met this guy in person about a year later, I really liked him, and now we are dating. I say "dating" in the loosest of terms, as getting to see each other once a week or less hardly constitutes dating, in my book. Don't date an actor unless you are very, very patient.
